A protest song from 1919, condemning the political barriers between Egypt and Sudan. Sung in a hybrid dialect of the two regional languages, these joyful lyrics are a celebration of cultural similarities. A dance tune returns again and again, composed by Isa in the style of a halling, a proud and animated dance based on circular, short phrases that turn and change.
